Texas rat snake!

this morning by the chicken coop my husband stumbled across, then killed an unknown snake. That thing was huge... 3 feet long at least! After some research, I have discovered that it was a Texas rat snake. Also known as the chicken snake, because it hangs around coops to catch mischievous rats... Go figure. I guess it was trying to do it's job, but snakes give me the willys, so I'm happy it's gone.
